How to choose your full neoprene wetsuit (men & women)

Fall is approaching, and temperatures are starting to drop. It’s the perfect time to choose a full wetsuit tailored to your water activity.

The 3/2 mm is the go-to thickness for mid-season use. It’s ideal for spring and autumn sessions, or even cooler summer mornings — whether you’re in Southwest France, the Mediterranean, or Northern Europe where the water stays chilly longer.

Recommended water temperature for a 3/2 mm wetsuit: 15 to 23 °C (59–73 °F).

For colder waters or winter use, go for a 4/3 mm, 5/3 mm, or 5/4 mm full wetsuit. These models are designed to keep you warm even in 8 °C water (46 °F), while maintaining freedom of movement.

A well-designed full wetsuit features different thickness zones: thicker neoprene around the chest to retain warmth near vital organs, and thinner panels on arms and legs for optimal paddle flexibility and mobility.

This thermal balance allows great insulation without restricting movement — ideal for surfing, kitesurfing, wingfoiling, windsurfing, open water swimming or coastal walking (longe-côte).

But with so many materials, fits and zipper systems, choosing the right wetsuit can be tricky. Here’s a simple guide to help you compare our wetsuits and find the perfect one for your needs.

Key factors to choose your full wetsuit

  • ✔️ Thickness adapted to your water temperature
  • ✔️ Premium neoprene quality (Yamamoto, Limestone Superstretch…)
  • ✔️ Type of seams (GBS, taped interior…)
  • ✔️ Thermal lining for added warmth
  • ✔️ Gender-specific anatomical fit
  • ✔️ Zipper type: chest zip or back zip
