Technology
Our neoprene wetsuits are designed and developed in France for surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wing foiling and SUP, whatever the conditions.
Every detail is worked on to combine technical performance, French style and durability. Here's a full guide to our materials and finishes.
Premium materials for neoprene wetsuits
At Saint Jacques we use three different insulating materials, chosen for their thermal qualities and their comfort, to cover every need: performance, versatility or a bio-based alternative.
Yamamoto limestone neoprene: performance & light weight
This premium Japanese neoprene stands out for its uniform closed-cell structure, delivering warmth, light weight and stretch. It's the global benchmark for demanding riders.
Bio-based foam: the alternative to neoprene
Made from natural rubber, oyster shells, vegetable oils and tea stalks, this USDA Biobased certified foam strikes an excellent balance between stretch, warmth and durability. It's used on the Clovis Bio 2027 edition. For everything about what's in it and how it's made, read our dedicated article: bio-based natural rubber foam.
Limestone Superstretch: versatility and comfort
Limestone-based, this neoprene combines stretch, light weight and resistance. Ideal for regular use, it features on our neoprene tops and on selected back zip wetsuits.

Technical finishes for a watertight, long-lasting wetsuit
GBS seams (glued and blind-stitched)
Our fullsuits are assembled with glued and blind-stitched seams. The result: less water coming in and more strength, without stiffening the neoprene.
Taped seams
A soft tape is added on the inside for even more watertightness and durability. Featured on all our fullsuits.
Quick Dry inner lining
Extra warmth, faster drying and a soft feel. Lining placement varies by model to optimise weight and warmth.
Water drainage systems
Perforated panels at the ankles let water out and prevent it from pooling. Ideal for kitesurfing, windsurfing and wing foiling.
Other technical details
- Ankle entry: comfort and hold, inspired by joggers.
- Key loop: inner pocket or secure attachment.
- Strategic reinforcements: heat-bonded patches to extend the suit's life.
- Silicone print at the wrists: limits water entry without making the suit harder to put on.
- Knee reinforcements: light, hard-wearing pads, perfect for SUP and wing foiling.
Zips to match your practice
Chest Zip
Ideal for performance and watertightness, it offers great freedom of movement. It's the choice of most demanding surfers, and the one used on the Clovis Bio.
Back Zip
Reinforced YKK back zip. Easy to put on, perfect for beginners or occasional riders, with a back system that limits water entry.
